Job Summary:
The Engineering Project Assistant (EPA) is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and assisting engineers with administrative, documentation, process and general engineering related support activities. The EPA must demonstrate the ability to assist multiple engineers, providing a wide range of administrative and computer skills to support engineering projects. Typical assignments include word processing, data entry and preliminary document preparation utilizing computing resources, change management process, requirements capture, metrics, etc. The
EPA performs project non-technical duties and acts as a process and tool expert for engineering design teams. The EPA must possess strong organization and analytical skills, as well as the ability to coordinate and lead activities.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide general project support including scheduling meetings, handling quick turn requests, monitoring, upcoming needs and proactively preparing for future deadlines.
Prepare and draft documents, coordinate reviews, and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
Collect metrics, compile and analyze data to generate reports, statistics, and presentations as needed.
Identify opportunities for process improvement within project functions and assist in implementing solutions.
Collaborate with other EPAs and team members to provide seamless support across functions as needed.
Work with cross-functional teams to edit/format documentation. Provide support to the change control and peer review process. Provide tools expertise and support to Engineering: MS Office Apps, requirements capture databases, change management and tracking tools. Generate reports as required.
Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise. May serve as a liaison between engineering teams
and management.
Build productive working relationships internally and externally on occasion. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data requiring some explanation or interpretation.
Work on moderately difficult assignments, which are given in terms of objectives to be accomplished, and priorities to be followed. Requires judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
Complete assignments and tasks independently. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.

Travel Specificity:
Potential travel between Irvine, California and other locations up to 10%.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position and occasionally move about the office. Constantly operates and use a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copier/printer. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information. The ability to observe, identify and assess details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds across the office for various needs.
Work Environment:
The work environment is an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
- Experience within the aerospace industry a plus not required.
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination
of education and experience
- Experience as a Project Assistant is a plus

Experience in ALM Jira, ALM Confluence, DOORS, SAP, and Subversion desired.
